On May 20th, 2023, WAMI hosted a community block party and book signing event. There were different vendors, refreshments, and even a DJ in order to help create a fun atmosphere for community members to bond and connect. This community bonding was strengthened by how WAMI connected this event to its mission to help justice-impacted individuals succeed in all aspects of their lives. This event spotlighted various justice-impacted authors and provided them with the opportunity to speak about their experiences. This experience was very insightful and enlightening for many at the event, which emphasizes the importance of sharing these stories and raising awareness of what these individuals have gone through.
